Coordinating Council for Continuing Education in Thoracic Surgery

Provide a convenient means for heart surgeons to receive continuing education credits while evaluating their knowledge of up-to-date techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung diseases.

JPL produced an educational package that included not only a CD-ROM, but also books and a video tape for individuals without access to a computer. The material consisted of: 300 multiple choice questions; hundreds of references and full text abstracts; 160 still images and digital videos; a searchable database for self-education or classroom instruction; and web links to professional sites. A supporting web site was also developed to handle both online orders and shipment of packages to physicians around the world.
